Our expert reviewers
Every substantive page on this site is checked by someone qualified to check it. Here is who they are.
Why this page exists
Debt content is exactly the kind of writing where being confidently wrong causes real harm. Someone reading a page that quotes the wrong Debt Relief Order threshold might conclude they are ineligible when they are not, and end up on a five-year fee-paying arrangement instead of a free twelve-month one. That is why every substantive page here is checked by a named person.
The panel
We are not currently able to name an independent reviewer for this content. Until we can, every page states plainly that it is written by our editorial team, cites its primary sources so you can check the figures yourself, and signposts free regulated advice.
We would rather tell you that than display a panel that does not exist. When reviewers are appointed, their names, professional bodies and registration numbers will appear here and on every page they have reviewed.
What reviewing means here
A reviewer reads the page in full, checks every factual claim against primary sources, flags anything overstated or unclear, and confirms the page in writing before it publishes. They are paid for the review and have no interest in whether readers make enquiries. They can and do require changes, including removal of anything they consider misleading.
