How this differs from the rest of the UK
Wales uses the same insolvency framework as England — IVAs, DROs, bankruptcy and Breathing Space all apply identically. What differs is devolved policy around it: council tax, housing support and the Discretionary Assistance Fund are all matters for the Welsh Government, and committal to prison for council tax arrears has been abolished in Wales.
